Junior Staff

Remote, hybrid, and in-office opportunities are available.

 

You will be exposed to each phase of the design process and work on various types of structural engineering, including new design, renovations, misc. metals, connections, and forensics.  Our licensed engineers will teach you to work with various materials, including concrete, masonry, steel, and wood.

 

We are seeking a Junior Staff with 0-4 years of experience interested in learning and growing.

 

Candidates for this position can opt for full remote work or explore hybrid and in-office opportunities in Providence, RI.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design of structures under the supervision of a Licensed Engineer.
    • Materials include but are not limited to Concrete, Masonry, Steel, and Wood.
    • Use of hand calculations and computational analysis software.
  • Model structural elements using Revit to create project documentation.
  • Construction administration services.
    • Review shop drawings and respond to RFI’s.
    • Provide field observations for active projects in construction.
    • Work with contractors to overcome construction issues.
  • Perform field investigations to determine the condition of the existing structure.
  • Preparation of calculation packages and investigation reports.

 

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of structural mechanics.
  • Basic comprehension of computational analysis software (TSD, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with structural design codes (IBC, ASCE7, AISC, ACI, etc.).
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt.
  • Ability to take the initiative and responsibility.
  • Ability to work well with others and work under supervision.
  • Experience with Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDs, Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam is a plus but not required.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
    • Masters of Science is preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Junior Staff 1 – Entry level.No experience is required.
  • Junior Staff 2 – Approximately 2-4 years of experience.
  • Relevant structural analysis and design experience are a plus.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
